Our Strategic Priorities

Students and staff in Limestone take time to ensure wellness activities are a regular part of the learning day.
School boards in Ontario are required to develop a Multi-Year Strategic Plan (MYSP) that outlines the Board’s strategic goals, progress that has been made against these goals in the previous school year, and actions the Board is taking in those strategic priority areas where goals are not being met.
The Limestone District School Board Strategic Plan 2017-2022 is anchored by three pillars – Wellness, Innovation and Collaboration. Each pillar has three main goals to support improved student achievement and well-being which are each linked to areas of focus and subsequent action plans. To help the Board of Trustees monitor this work, an annual Strategic Action Plan Evaluation Framework was created that lists the actions timelines, status and evidence of success for each goal and area of focus.

The drone program at Granite Ridge Education Centre is one example of innovative programming available to students in LDSB.
This framework uses a traffic light system – green for on target; yellow for making progress and red for needs further attention – to allow Trustees and the public to easily see the status of each initiative. This monitoring report is presented to Trustees twice a year – in the spring and again at year’s end. Embedded in this work are additional requirements to report on our Board Improvement Plan goals for improving fundamental math skills, promoting student pathways planning and supports, and in creating equitable schools and classrooms for the 2018-2019 school year. These items can be found in the 2018-2019 Snapshot.
