Our Strategic Priorities
School boards in Ontario are required to develop an overarching, high-level plan to help boards reach the goals of the Ministry of Education’s Achieving Excellence: A Renewed Vision for Education in Ontario, to foster public confidence in education, to create coherence and cohesion for the system, to ensure equity of access and opportunity for all students, and to provide opportunities for shared leadership and encourage a collective growth mindset.
In November 2016, the Board released its new strategic plan anchored by three pillars – Wellness, Innovation and Collaboration. By promoting Wellness, Innovation, and Collaboration in Limestone, the Board will improve student achievement and well-being.
To help the Board of Trustees monitor this work, we created the Strategic Action Plan Evaluation Framework: 2017-2022 which lists the actions timelines, status and evidence of success for each goal and area of focus. This new framework uses a traffic light system – green for on target; yellow for making progress and red for needs further attention – to allow Trustees and the public to easily see the status of each initiative.
This monitoring report is presented to Trustees twice a year – in the spring and again at year’s end. We are pleased to report that after our first full year, only a handful of items are requiring further attention, the majority are either on target or making progress.
In addition to the evaluation framework, we are also excited to share our progress with you through our stories of Wellness, Innovation and Collaboration.
