The Limestone District School Board has introduced a new program designed to bring more experiential learning to Grade 7 & 8 intermediate students.
Itinerant Experiential Education Teacher Jason Quenneville travels to various schools to teach woodworking and culinary programming in their classrooms. Besides building projects and cooking healthy meals, the goal of the program is to support intermediate teachers who want to bring more hands-on learning to their students in a safe and meaningful way.
This traveling woodworking class, is more than math and safety procedures, it teaches students important life skills like learning from mistakes, and sticking with something even if it’s challenging.
