Mental health professionals were available by telephone for consultations and check ins over the summer.
To help respond to challenges faced by students during the 2019-2020 school year, including those posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Limestone District School Board established a summer mental health support line.
Limestone mental health professionals were available to consult, complete well-being check-ins, and/or assist students and families in navigating community resources during the school break.
In addition, the team provided consultation services to parents/caregivers regarding the mental health of their students. The service was open four days a week during July and August.
This service was provided thanks to new short-term funding from the Ministry of Education.
