Ernestown Secondary School is one of the first schools in the province to pilot the TechnoMath program in the first semester of the 2017-2018 school year.
By combining Grade 10 Construction Technology and Grade 10 Applied Math, teachers and students saw increased levels of engagement and relationship building among students. This lead to a more collaborative culture in the classroom. Students appeared confident and self-directed in their learning, while trying new things. For 2018-2019, Loyalist Collegiate & Vocational Institute will combine Grade 10 Applied Math and Grade 10 Hospitality.
Teachers involved with the TechnoMath program thrived in the environment where they co-planned and co-created learning activities. They believe TechnoMath is worthwhile for everyone.
